ANU #97 — New Features & Security Improvements

AppCoins Wallet
4 min readSep 23, 2021

Welcome to the AppCoins News Update, ‘ANU’ for short. This week we’re focusing on a currency feature and a new wallet verification option. Read on to find out more!

Changing Balance Currency

Following the latest wallet 2.0 version, we are now in a much better condition to deploy features our users have been requesting. One of these features will allow users to choose which currency they would like to use to view their balance. Travelers, expats, or users that simply prefer to correspond with the apps they use, will greatly appreciate this feature.

This means that all wallets will start with a default currency based on the users’ current location, much like it is now, but now you can go to the settings and choose the currency you prefer. This will automatically convert your balance into your chosen currency for you to better track how much you earn and how much you spend.

We have already shown you the designs for this feature back when it was in the idea phase, but check it out again now that it’s about to launch. And stay tuned!

Subscription

We’ve been working on the subscriptions feature for a while now, and while the development has had its ups and downs, we’re excited to announce that the finishing touches are finally being applied! We are also planning to support Free Trials in our subscription systems until the end of the year. However, we want to make sure everything is airtight for our users, so hang in there, because soon enough you’ll be able to use your AppCoins Wallet to subscribe to your favorite apps!

New Wallet Verification System

Almost a year ago we launched our new verification system, which allowed our users to verify their wallets through their credit/debit cards. This not only allowed them to make safer purchases, but it also helped them to avoid being blocked by fraud prevention rules. Now, we’re expanding our verification system to PayPal! This will not only increase the amount of users who will be able to verify their wallet, but it will also add a layer of protection to PayPal purchases as well. And, as if that wasn’t good enough, our PayPal verifications will be almost instantaneous as there will be no banking institutions involved!

Here’s a quick sneak peek of what this will look like:
