Last Stages of Developments
While we may not have had an AppCoins Wallet release in the last couple of weeks, we are very close to publishing an important new feature.
Carrier Billing
This important feature is a new payment method. The time for carrier billing has come.
This new payment method was also mentioned in our previous ANU. Carrier billing allows for a frictionless payment, with everything you need to pay on your smartphone.
As discussed, we are going for a slow rollout of the feature, starting with one country and then growing from there. It will also first be integrated into the purchase flow (minus the top-up flow for now).
We are in the final steps of the development, with most of the process already working in our dev environment, and after that we will start our testing phase. Stay tuned for the next few days, and be the first to make purchases with your SIM card.

Wallet Validation
The new wallet validation flow is another upcoming feature. While this may not be a new feature, as you already have it available to validate your AppCoins Wallet through SMS, we are going to make it even better and easier for our users.
We know the limits of our current system, and we want to make sure that we use the best method to provide the most reliability in every feature we have. So we are improving it by making updates to the flow and changing the method used to validate our user authenticity. Don’t miss the upcoming ANU for more details about it.
News from the Design Team
Backup with Password
We already talked about our support channel and how important it has been to evolve our product. This week our design update is an example of that. Many of our users frequently reach out to us and request the recovery of their wallets or their password, explaining that they have forgotten it. However, since we don’t store the user’s password or the wallet’s private keys anywhere (everything is on the user’s device), we don’t have any way of recovering them. However, we understood that something needed to be improved.
So our design team came up with some updates to our backup screen that, we think, can help reduce the number of users with such complaints. We’ve added an area for you to choose whether you want to activate additional security (a password), and if you choose to do so, we have included warnings letting you know to keep your backup in a separate (but safe!) location to avoid losing your wallet. Let us know what you think about this new look.
