ANU#67 — Wallet Validation and the Re-enabling of 3D Secure
Welcome to the AppCoins News Update, ‘ANU’ for short. This week, we’re focusing on new security features for card payments, new design updates, and more!
We are back with numerous updates for you, from enriched flows to improved security features — and even some design updates. In the past two weeks we’ve released a new version, but we haven’t stopped there. We’ve continued working to bring you an even more updated version that is being released as we’re writing this article for you. Check out all the details in this week’s ANU!
In Our Previous Version
We mentioned in our previous ANU that we were adding a new way to show when content is loading during our payment flows and making some corrections to the transaction destination. In addition to those improvements, we’ve also added something more to the current AppCoins Wallet version.
Wallet validation on payment flows
We’ve finally added the wallet validation flow to the payment process, including both purchases and top-up flows. This means that we took an additional step to make sure that our users follow the steps of fair use of our ecosystem. To make sure of it, we may request that the user go through our wallet verification process (which we already have) as part of the User Incentives Program features.
In Our Latest Release
We continue updating and improving our AppCoins Wallet — there is always room for it! In this new release we have a major security update, in addition to a small visual improvement.
Re-enabling 3D Secure
As part of our continued work on security improvements, we brought back something that we previously had: the 3D Secure feature for credit card payments. Something that is likely familiar to those of you who frequently make online purchases, the 3D Secure feature gives you another layer of security by further verifying that the user is really the owner of the card being used for the payment.
We previously had this feature enabled, however, the new credit card service that is currently being used on the wallet brought additional security to our payment flow, and as such, we disabled the 3D Secure. However we are now able to bring it back, providing our payment flow with an increased security level.
Onboarding payment methods listing
With all the security measures stealing the spotlight in our development, some may have forgotten about the UI and UX improvements. But don’t worry, our team never forgets about them (because our designer won’t let us). We’ve added a small improvement in this release to our onboarding, more specifically to the screen that talks about the available payment methods.
Design Update
This week we bring you a little more about the carrier billing payment method, its design, and the way we think it would be integrated into our payment flow. Tell us what you think about the pictures below!
