ANU#57 — New Wallet Features and Top Up Improvements
Welcome to the AppCoins News Update, ‘ANU’ for short. This week, we’re focusing on Top-up improvements and other new AppCoins Wallet features. Read on to find out more!
In this week’s ANU, we have a new release that’s being prepared for launch, as we write!
New Release
Handling the “Smart Background”
In this new release, we focused on improvements that may not be obvious to our usual users but have an impact on the performance and quality of the AppCoins Wallet user’s experience.
First, we focused on issues that were reported by users, where their smartphone had a feature similar to “smart background.” With a “smart background” like feature, smartphones force a few limitations in the usability of our purchase flow.
Without focusing on critical technical details, we were able to improve one of the options for the integrations of our billing system — the one-step payment. That, along with our standard solution integration, allows us to circumvent the smartphone system limitation and allows the wallet to be called and to proceed with the purchase flow normally.
These changes must also be integrated into the application with our billing system so it can work properly. As you already know, this will be provided by the APK Migrator that will integrate the last version of our AppCoins Billing SDK.
Tokens Balance and Gas Price
To improve the information that we get from the blockchain, and to guarantee the best speed in the information we are getting more often, we have changed the source of information to the blockchain tokens (APPC and ETH) or the Ethereum network gas price.
The tokens are frequently fetched to show the balance. The network gas price is used to confirm if the user has enough balance to make a purchase with APPC and to make an AppCoins or Ethereum transfer.
This change does not affect purchases or transfers. Those will continue to occur using the current provider of communication with the blockchain.
Improvements and Fixes
As always, we did many improvements and fixes that were reported by our QA team and through our support channel.
Share your Favorite Game
Although this will still not be available for this release, we are working on allowing you to share the applications you already know and love through our apps carousel! We’ll have more information on this, in the next ANU.
Top-up Improvements
One new development that is on the making is one of the most mentioned lately through our support channel. Once again we listen to our users, and this time, the focus is the maximum amount and default amounts on the Top-Up feature.
One of the most requested ones was to increase the maximum amount for top-ups, so we will be providing that in an upcoming release, along with an improvement in the way we show the default values. Take a look below and tell us what you think!
Following last month’s protocol KPIs performance, on this ANU we have collected the values from February, regarding both flows using AppCoins, IAP and User Acquisition, the number of apps downloaded with the integration of AppCoins, as well as indicators from the SDK, as the table shows below.
As always, you’re invited to follow our work regarding all of the products we’re working on:
