ANU #55 — New Local Payments & MWC Barcelona

AppCoins Wallet
5 min readFeb 12, 2020

Welcome to the AppCoins News Update, ‘ANU’ for short. This week, we’re focusing on new local payment options, user feedback & support, and Mobile World Congress which we’ll be attending between the 24–27 of February. Read on to find out more!

Since the last ANU#54, the new version of the AppCoins Wallet is already available, and the preparations for the next release with new content and new features are currently ongoing. All the details in this week’s ANU here:

Final Tests

In the last couple of days, we have been going through the last tests and validations for the new AppCoins Wallet version. Not only were we able to solve some issues found during our tests, but we also had time to improve the user experience on some flows. Hope you like our latest improvements!

Local Payments

After the new release, it was all hands on deck for the new features that will be coming live on the next one. Some of the new features of the AppCoins Wallet are new local payment methods for two more regions very dear to us: Brazil and Mexico.

We are now on the testing phase for the new local payment methods integration (Boleto and OXXO). This means that if you use any of those on your daily payments, in the next release of the AppCoins Wallet you will also be able to use them to make purchases in your favorite games. Tell us what you think about this!

User Feedback & Support

We’ve also been working on a new major feature that will be able to provide better feedback to users on their purchases and payment flows. Our goal is to provide more detailed feedback when users make purchases or top-ups.

This will hopefully provide more confidence to them since they will be able to better understand the reasons why problems during the payment process have occurred. We’ll provide these details directly from our support channel.

We are currently working on some improvements regarding the UI and UX of this feature and it will be available to all users in the next version of the AppCoins Wallet.

Notifications for Support

For our Customer Support service to be useful to users, we’ll also include the standard red dot notification on the Support button (next to the Settings button). This way, they’ll be notified whenever they get new communications about any of the issues our Support Team might be handling for them.

Following last month’s protocol KPIs performance, on this ANU we have collected the values from January, regarding both flows using AppCoins, IAP and User Acquisition, the number of apps downloaded with the integration of AppCoins, as well as indicators from the SDK, as the table shows below.

As always, you’re invited to follow our work regarding all of the products we’re working on:

Both the AppCoins and the Catappult Team will be attending Mobile World Congress — the largest mobile event in the world. MWC brings together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology alongside some of the most distinguished influencers in the world.

From AI to 5G Connectivity to Security and Privacy and more, attendees will be able to learn about the future of technology as industry influencers share their experiences and vision on what lies ahead for innovation.

MWC is where major OEMs, app stores, and mobile app developers gather to network and close deals. As such, our goal is to onboard as many app stores, OEMs, and developers to the protocol.

If you wish to get in touch with the Team while there, please send an email beforehand to info@appcoins.io.

Mobile World Congress will take place in Barcelona, between 24–27 of February.
