ANU#40 — Local Payments, User Experience and Half Year Highlights
AppCoins News Update, or ANU for short, is a regular bi-weekly update by the AppCoins team. As usual, we are going to cover dev updates, market reports, team members and upcoming events. This week we review all the updates and improvements that have been made in the AppCoins Wallet, including distinguishing the types of payments that allow for a better wallet user experience.

Since the last ANU, we’ve been working hard in order to improve a wallet version with local payments in India and Indonesia.
Local Payments
We’re happy to announce we’ve made a new release with a way better user experience! In the first version, when the user made a purchase, they had to go through these steps to finish the operation:
- Make the payment and receive AppCoins Credits;
- Go back to the buying interface and redo the purchase again, this time with AppCoins Credits. This was confusing.
Why did we implement it this way in first place?
Well, we have two types of payments: -
- Sync payments, that start and end in a single flow, like Paypal or Credit Card.
- Async payments, that require multiple user actions, like bank transfers. The user has to start a purchase, then use some kind of reference to it to conclude the purchase.
In local payments, we have both types of transactions. In the case of async payments, we can’t give the item to the user automatically. This is why we give AppCoins Credits. With AppCoins Credits, the user is able to make the purchase afterwards.
What did we change in this release?
In this release we have distinguished both types of payments:
In synced payments, at the end of the flow, the user will receive the item.
In asynced payments, the user will receive AppCoins Credits that will allow them to complete the purchase, with AppCoins Credits, once they complete the async payment.
With this change, we expect users to have a better experience when buying new items in their favorite games.

We’ve reached the half year mark! How about a quick recap of the milestones the AppCoins team has achieved so far?
We started the year working on our partnership with Unity, specially on improving the feedback from developers when there were issues with integration. Our goal has always been, and still is, to make the integration the smoothest process possible.
The launch of the APK Migrator Tool was another highlight, and has been a an essencial tool when it comes to getting developers to join the AppCoins Protocol.
The AppCoins Wallet went global and is currently translated into 31 languages. It also went through a revamp and now has a more straightforward “Send Funds” screen where any user can easily:
1. Send AppCoins Credits;
2. Top up their wallets with AppCoins Credits using fiat currencies like dollars or euros;
3. ‘Ask Someone to Pay’ and ‘Top-Up’ their wallets through a link or QR Code;
