ANU#35 — Payments in Landscape, Wallet Updates and Unite Shanghai
AppCoins News Update, or ANU for short, is a regular bi-weekly update by the AppCoins team. As usual, we are going to cover dev updates, market reports, team members and upcoming events. This week’s focus is on making our payments more user-friendly in landscape mode, tweaking our APK Migrator Tool, as well as improving the AppCoins Wallet.

Since our last ANU, the spotlight of our developments has been on the improvements of features. From the AppCoins Wallet purchase flow to the APK Migrator Tool, we have been working on our target objectives for this quarter.
Payments in Landscape
As commonly known, the source of the majority of purchases that are done in mobile games are in landscape (when you have your phone horizontal). With this in mind, we knew that we needed our purchase flow UI to answer properly to that. We are currently in the final step to giving a better user experience when it comes to making payments in games. We hope to have updates regarding this in our next release.
The APK Migrator Tool
One of the tools that we are very proud to have available to our developers is the APK Migrator. Improvements of the tool has been our team’s focus for the past weeks. In addition to tweaking our APK Migrator Tool to enable automatic migration of the billing system, we have also been working on our compatibility with Unity’s obfuscation tools.
The migrator is already available in our production environment. We are very enthusiastic about the outcome of integrating this new feature to our APK Migrator Tool.
AppCoins Wallet Release
Last week we also released a new version of the AppCoins Wallet that includes improvements to its user interface and user experience. For new users, we have made the empty transaction screen more welcoming and appealing. Our existing users are now able to get better access to applications that use AppCoins — thanks to the fact that the purchase currencies from featured application bundles are now redirecting users to a more detailed page.
We also added a feature that allows our partners to get more out of our ecosystem. This time we focused on the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) so that our partners are able to receive their fair share of the revenue when using our wallet and billing system.
You can find the latest releases regarding the wallet in their usual places; Aptoide or Google Play.
Following last month’s protocol KPIs performance, on this ANU we have collected the values from April, regarding both flows using AppCoins, IAP and User Acquisition, the number of apps downloaded with the integration of AppCoins, as well as indicators from the SDK, as the table shows below.

Bio: João has been working at Aptoide for almost a year.
He was previously a summer intern for the Aptoide team and is now a part-time Android Developer for the AppCoins Wallet. Besides working, João is also completing his MSc degree.
We are elated to announce that the AppCoins team will be attending Unity’s biggest event of the year, Unite Shanghai 2019, between the 10th and 12th of May.
Unite Shanghai brings together influential names from the world of gaming, VR, AR and MR for an impressive 3-day event attracting thousands of attendees, hosting over 50 hours of keynotes and lectures, as well as showcasing the latest of Unity’s technological achievements.
In addition, our Asia Pacific VP Tiago Alves will be speaking at the Unity Distribution Platform (UDP) Store Partner Panel and at the UDP Happy Hour, both of which take place on May 11th.
