Since the last ANU, the team has been focusing on developing a new payment method — Ask Someone to Pay — and on generating Redeem Cards that users can use to earn AppCoins Credits.
P2P Transfers Updates
Our credits system allows our users not only to benefit from promotions such as our User Incentives Program and our User Acquisition Flow, but also to take advantage of blockchain features like security and transparency. On the 19th of March, we launched a new wallet version with a more straightforward “Send Funds” screen where any user can easily send AppCoins, Ethereum and the new feature, send AppCoins Credits. The objective here is to reach even more users.
Top-Up Feature — Release Date
Top-up is a feature that allows users to top up their wallets with AppCoins Credits using fiat currencies like dollars or euros. We have been talking about the Top-up feature for some time now, and it has recently reached its final tests phase. We expect to release it on the 28 of March.
Ask Someone To Pay
Since the beginning of the AppCoins project, one of our main focus has always been to make purchases available to anyone. That said, we have come up with a new way for users to make purchases.
In this case, when in the checkout screen, we have provided a new payment method called: “Ask Someone to Pay.” When using this method, the user can create a link that he/she can share with anyone — for instances, with his/her parents. That link will open a webpage that shows the intention of buying a specific item. From there, the person who received the link can help the user who sent it buy the item by topping up his/her wallet.
Redeem Cards (My AppCoins)
Since we are present at many events like GDC, MWC, and others, we’ve developed a system that allows us to generate cards with codes that the user can redeem and earn AppCoins Credits. This is a way for users who are not yet familiar with the use of APPC Credits to test them and understand their potential.

The Catappult team went to GDC in partnership with Unity and got the chance to participate in various events and meet with many developers, eager to learn more about Catappult’s main benefits.
Every year Game Developers Conference is visited by top gaming industry experts looking to learn more about the latest and best alternatives when it comes to the future of the industry — as such, attending the event was an amazing opportunity for the Catappult team to present the first blockchain Android multistore app distribution platform. While there, the team met with several top-grossing developers interested in entering a world leveraged by the benefits of blockchain and AppCoins technology — over 15 meetings with top grossing gaming publishers occurred.
Besides having a booth at Unity’s Partner Spotlight, the team also participated in various Unity events where they were able to explain what Catappult is about: helping developers reach millions of users, with zero coding efforts, all while getting the best in-app revenue share in the market.
Álvaro Pinto, the Co-founder of Catappult, gave a presentation on Catappult at the VIP Meet and Greet event, while Pedro Almeida — VP of Monetization — and Nuno Monteiro — Unity Lead Developer — participated in other activities including Unity’s Answer Bar. There they got the chance to network with the finest developers, business decision-makers and leading industry experts.
During GDC, Unity also announced the open beta launch of the Unity Distribution Portal which allows developers to scale their business and expand their player base globally by distributing mobile games on app stores in emerging markets — one of them being Catappult.
This is an amazing partnership for Catappult!
Overall, attending Game Developers Conference was an excellent opportunity for the promotion of Catappult and the AppCoins Protocol who seek to improve the app economy for developers.
