ANU #105 — Bonus Levels & E-Skills
--
Welcome to the AppCoins News Update, ‘ANU’ for short. This week we’re focusing on adjustments to the bonus levels of APPC and E-Skills. Keep reading to find out more!
Bonus Levels
Every new year comes with new changes, and this one is not an exception. AppCoins team works on a daily basis to provide a better service to our audience, so after deep-diving into the entire year of 2021, we have decided to adjust our APPC bonus levels.
The AppCoins team will peg APPC at 0.01 for 2022 to make sure that all players are treated equally. This need is due to a large swing in the token price that could be seen in the last year, which from bottom to top was around 80 times.
By pegging it to 0.01, every user will have the same progression plan to unlock more bonuses. But don’t worry, the amount needed to reach the next level does not change in USD, it’s just fixed to a stable level in APPC. You can observe how it was the moving average in 2021 vs the new model in the following table:
This new adjustment doesn’t jeopardize any player, but provides a fairer opportunity for everyone. It will be implemented later this year, stay tuned.
An introduction to e-Skills
Since the beginning, Aptoide has been driven by new technologies and innovation. We are always looking for products to make your life easier and fun.
In the 1st quarter of 2021, Aptoide created a new team to build a platform for the developers to easily integrate a game mode, where players can earn money while playing fun games. The platform is called e-Skills!
How does it work?
Let’s imagine that 2 friends, Player 1 and Player 2, want to play against each other and test their skills in their favorite game while setting a prize for the winner:
To join the match both players will have to pay an entry fee using our AppCoins billing system. The funds from the entry fee will define the prize pool. Once the payment is completed both players will battle against each other and the winner is rewarded.
Platform Features
The platform has 3 main features:
Payment system
As we said previously, in order to join a match, the user has to pay an entry fee, for this we are using the power of AppCoins billing system which is very versatile.
Once the user chooses which match to play, the AppCoins will take over and show the user how much they have to pay and the payment methods. We are only supporting AppCoins Credits for now.
Matchmaking
To make the developer’s life easier we’ve created a matchmaking system that allows the developers to use it in a very simple way. In fact, they don’t even have to know a lot about e-Skills, they only need to know that the players will be facing each other as they request.
Revenue share
One of the most important parts of the system is to distribute the revenue. The winner of the match will receive 75% of the prize pool, the Catappult will get 15% and the developer will get 10% of the prize pool.
We created all this making sure we are as transparent as possible, for that, every transaction related to the e-Skills platform is displayed within appcexplorer.io the same way that we display in AppCoins payment system.
As always, you’re invited to follow our work regarding all of the products we’re working on:
