NFTs on the AppCoins Wallet

On ANU #100 we teased that the AppCoins Wallet would soon start supporting NFTs and even though you might have already noticed this new feature on our latest versions, today we would like to talk a little more about our plans.

As you can probably guess, NFTs not only pose a technical challenge for any company, but even more so, pose a business challenge. Since it’s an industry only now taking the first steps, it’s natural that there are many solutions presented to solve the same problems and many companies have their own custom-made solutions to buy and sell NFTs on their games. The AppCoins Wallet team, however, is more concerned about what the market trend is going to be moving forward and not so much what it is now. That said, our main concern at the moment is to build a solid system based on the most common NFT network, the Ethereum Blockchain that could still be adapted to work with other chains in the future if necessary.

Our current challenge, however, is regarding transactions of these tokens. So, to allow our users to see value as soon as possible, we’re planning to deliver iterative improvements in order to reach a point where our vision of buying and selling NFTs on the AppCoins Wallet becomes common practice.

The first step towards this goal is to allow users to actually send and receive NFTs to and from different wallet addresses. We aim to allow this for both ERC-721 and ERC-1155, but since the ERC-1155 is proving a greater challenge than anticipated, we will soon be releasing a Wallet version that will allow the transfer of ERC-721 tokens.

Below you can check out our latest designs for the hold and transfer features for NFT.

Image 1: You can see that NFTs are available on the top right corner of the My Wallet page.
Image 2: All NFTs the wallet contains are listed on a gallery.
Image 3: By clicking on an NFT, you can see any details that NFT might have (usually an image and a short description are available).
Image 4: To transfer a NFT you simply need to insert the recipient’s wallet address and make sure to have enough ETH for the gas fee.
Image 5: Once the transfer is complete, it will be displayed on the AppCoins Wallet transaction list.

Following last month’s protocol KPIs performance, on this ANU we have collected the values from December, regarding flows using Apps with AppCoins, IAP with AppCoins and User Interactions with the Wallet, as the table shows below.
